AVAIL Stream for Egnyte - How to Create Stream Definitions

Learn how to connect your Egnyte Webhooks to your Stream Definitions to begin monitoring folders and indexing content into AVAIL

For Administrators

Download the official AVAIL Stream for Egnyte Integration Guide

Important note: The Stream Integration Guide will include the prerequisites to consider for Egnyte and AVAIL. Reference the guide to learn how to register your Egnyte domain and authenticate your Egnyte Service User. The guide will also include the steps to create your initial webhook(s) and set up your Stream server.

*Publishers will be unable to create Stream Definitions until you have registered your Egnyte domain, authenticated your Service User, and created a webhook.

For Publishers

Step 1: Log in to the AVAIL Stream Portal

To access the AVAIL Stream Portal, go to https://stream.getavail.com, then log in with your AVAIL username and password.

*For customers on SSO, the integration portal is not connected to the same sign-in flow. You will need to create a new password using the Forgot Password link.

Step 2: Create a New Stream Definition

A Stream definition is a set of rules to tell Stream which files to monitor and which Channel the files would be indexed to.

Creating a new definition involves 5 steps:

1. Details - Select a target Channel and name your definition.

2. Folder - Choose a webhook and folder for Stream to monitor.

3. Filter - Add inclusion and exclusion rules when applicable (examples below).

Inclusion Statement: Only include files with the file type .rfa.

Exclusion statement: Exclude Revit backup files using a regular expression.

Helpful tip: Use this expression to exclude Revit backup files when indexing content into AVAIL.

.*\.\d{4}\.(rfa|RFA|rvt|RVT|rte|RTE|rft|RFT)

4. Tags - Add Tags to Content

By default, Stream will automatically import folder names as tags (see the blue check box), but you can add additional tags if needed.

5. Review - Review Your Selections before Submitting

Step 3: Go to the Target Channel in the AVAIL Desktop to see the newly indexed content.

Helpful tip: You can edit or delete a Stream Definition after it's been created by clicking on the 3-dot menu.
