How to resolve Revit "Error - cannot be ignored" errors when Harvesting
Earlier versions of AVAIL for Revit (Harvest mode) suppressed Revit "Error - cannot be ignored" errors. This is changed in 5.6.0.0.
AVAIL for Revit 5.6.0.0 is in Preview Release (beta).

Harvest will now respect Revit "Error - cannot be ignored" and cancel the Harvest process, to prevent incomplete Harvest output (an incomplete Sheet for example).

When you encounter "Error - cannot be ignored", resolve those errors in Revit, then Harvest again.
Steps to resolve Revit "Error - cannot be ignored":
With AVAIL:
Resolve errors in Revit before Harvesting again:
-
Harvest errors are shown in the Harvest UI. Click "errors" to see a list of views and sheets that errored. Although this is not enough information to resolve "Errors - cannot be ignored", see item 3.
-
There is information in the Harvest logs too, but this also is not enough to resolve the Revit errors.
-
To resolve the errors, follow these steps:
-
index the RVT container file into an AVAIL Channel, only for debugging purposes. Create a new channel for this purpose. Do not make the Channel a Host in Cloud channel.
-
-
-
Select the container file in AVAIL desktop
-
In Revit, in a new Revit project file, click the VIEW PROJECT button in the AVAIL Project Navigator tray.
-
an AVAIL dialog opens
-
In the dialog, click Sheets or Drafting Views
-
find the sheet or view of interest, and
-
attempt to LOAD it into Revit (push the green Load button in the AVAIL popup).
-
Specific errors will be shown in a Revit dialog box.
-
The "Show" button in the dialog can be informative
-
An error resolution button may be shown in the dialog (for example, "Unjoin elements")
-
-
Resolve the errors in Revit, and make note of the types of Revit elements that you repaired.
- Use Revit Transfer Project Standards to transfer the repaired elements back into the RVT container file from which you Harvest. Save the file after transferring the repaired standards.
-
Then Harvest again.
-
Without AVAIL, Revit only:
-
In Revit, in a new Revit project file, Use View>Insert Views From File
-
Insert erroring sheets and views from the container file.
- Review and resolve the errors
-
Make note of the types of Revit elements that you repaired.
- Use Revit Transfer Project Standards to transfer the repaired elements back into the RVT container file from which you Harvest. Save the file after transferring the repaired standards.
-
Then Harvest again.
