Key Value Pairs

AVAIL uses a more sophisticated method for creating and managing tags, a Key Value approach.  Key values add a second descriptor to the tagging process, thus providing a more robust way to sort and associate terms.  By default, the second term is generically assigned as “keyword” but the publisher can add this second term to provide more power.  Storing Tags in a database as Key | Value pairs is an improvement over other Tags and named file folders because of the increased Information Fidelity.

Storing Tags as Key | Value pairs also drives the display of information in the Filters Panel.  All Values related to a single Key can be displayed in the Filters Panel making it easier to select relevant Tags and find the content you’re looking for.
